The London Gala Ball is moving ONLINE for 2021. It will be very different, but also exciting with couples joining from all over the world.
Competitors are encouraged to dance in their own studios with a well positioned or moving camera.

We will be posting detailed instructions on how the technical and organisational side will work for the day.

The competition is for Pro-Am // Teacher Student International Style Ballroom, Latin, Smooth and Show Dance. We welcome everyone irrespective of association and qualifications.

One student can enter two consecutive Categories: one level up on one age category down.
No partner change during heats.
All Categories may dance open routines.
No lifts are permitted at any level, apart from the Show Dance.
No dress restrictions, except appropriate dance shoes must be worn.
‘Pro-Am’ for this competition only will refer to as a Professional or Amateur teacher/coach dancing with their student.

Categories explained:
Category C/Beginner – for students with limited dance and competition experience dancing up to Silver level, but may dance open choreography;
Category B/Intermediate – for students dancing up to Gold level, but may dance open choreography;
Category C/Advanced – for students dancing any level open choreography.

Show Dance:
One Teacher dancing with one Student to their chosen music. One couple will be streamed at a time.
Length of the routine should be between 2 and 2.5min, including intro.
Choreography should contain at least 70% of Ballroom/Smooth or Latin styles.
Lifts are allowed and should be performed in a safe manner under full responsibility of the professional partner.
Each couple will get a professional video of their performance.
